Newel Scoon, recently promoted to vice president of U.S. operations at Coach USA, has been appointed to the board of directors for Trucking Against Trafficking and its Busing on the Lookout initiative. His appointment took effect in September.

Scoon joined Coach USA in 1999 through its subsidiary, One Bus Inc., starting as an accounting clerk. Over the years, he advanced through various roles, including assistant controller and safety director at the company’s facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In 2008, he was named assistant general manager at Suburban Transit before transitioning to service development manager at Megabus in 2012.
From 2015 to 2021, Scoon was general manager of Community Coach and later took on the same role at ShortLine, Coach USA’s largest operation. He assumed his current position in 2024, overseeing service delivery, fiscal management, and company policies.
“I am looking forward to serving on the Trucking Against Trafficking board, as it’s incumbent on all of us in transportation to do our level best in combating and defending those who are human trafficked,” Scoon said.
The Paramus, New Jersey.-based Coach USA is one of the nation’s largest passenger transportation companies, operating 1,100 vehicles and employing more than 1,700 people. The company provides local and intercity transport services across the United States and Canada, where it operates as Coach Canada.
