The Greater New Jersey Motorcoach Association’s Scholarship Program Awards were distributed in October to the two winning applicants. Each received $1500 for their educational endeavors and a plaque from the GNJMA Board of Directors. The Scholarship Committee reviewed applicants blindly before making their decision for each category.
The scholarship awards were given to Cory Bushner, who nominated by GNJMA’s Allied Member Wind Creek Bethlehem and Jessie Kozicki, nominated by GNJMA Operator Member Stout’s Transportation.
Bushner currently holds an Associate’s Degree in Communications that he completed while working part-time to support himself financially. He is also the caretaker for his parents, who are both disabled.
He is currently in the process of pursuing and completing his Bachelor of Applied Science Technical Leadership degree with an anticipated graduation date of June 1, 2023.
Kozicki is majoring in marine science. She would like to work in the rehabilitation of marine mammals. She chose this career path because of the many marine mammals impacted by pollution in the ocean.
Her anticipated graduation date from Coastal Carolina University is May 8, 2022, plans to continue her education by pursuing her Masters and PhD. in veterinary care of marine mammals.
GNJMA announced the scholarship program at the association’s 2018 Annual Member Meeting held at Bally’s in Atlantic City. The goal of the program is to promote higher education goals of the association’s members, and their families, whether it be to pursue a college degree or trade certification.
Each year, the association awards a scholarship for GNJMA Operator Members and one for GNJMA Allied Members.
