The Pennsylvania Bus Association (PBA) recognized employees of seven PBA members as the 2021 Drivers and Employees of Distinction.
The recipients were honored during PBA’s Annual Conference on June 21 at Wyndham Garden in State College, Pennsylvania.
“We thank the Ohio Star Theater for sponsoring the luncheon. PBA gave each recipient an engraved plaque, pin and watch with engraving. We congratulate all honorees,” said Executive Director Patricia Cowley.
Outstanding employees
The Driver and Employee of Distinction Award recognition is an annual program that enables bus company members to recognize outstanding employees for contributions to their employer, their passengers, the motorcoach industry in general and the community in which they serve.

Recipients of the Driver of Distinction Awards, along with praise for their contributions, were:
- Pablo Barrionuevo, Martz Trailways: Pablo has taken many junior drivers under his wing to help demonstrate the proper way to drive.
- Chris Yeckley, Anderson Coach: “Chris always finds a way to get it done.”
- George Snedeker, Fullington Trailways: “In the midst of the worldwide pandemic, George understood the peaks and valleys our industry was facing.”
- Larry Fink, Susquehanna Trailways: “Larry stuck with us through the pandemic and did whatever trips came along. He did a lot of work in school buses during the pandemic.”
Recipients of the Employee of Distinction Award were:
- Brenda Shue, Bailey Coach.
- Claye Knepp, The Fullington Auto Bus Company.
- Kelly Hay, Mlaker Transportation.
- Kristin Miller, Wolf’s Bus Lines.
- Nichole Baer, Anderson Coach.
The June conference was a kickoff to the organization’s yearlong celebration of its 2023 centennial that will include a collaboration with the Spring Fling in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and the 2023 Annual Meeting in Jamestown, New York. Next year’s theme will be comedy because the gathering will take place in the hometown of Lucille Ball.
The Pennsylvania Bus Association, incorporated in 1923, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to representing the business and governmental interests of private bus companies operating in Pennsylvania.
The mission of PBA is to promote motorcoach travel as well as tour and charter services provided by operator members in cooperation with and support for its travel industry supplier members.
