Peter Pan expands fleet with 15 new MCI coaches

Peter Pan Bus Lines is adding 15 new clean-diesel J4500 coaches to its fleet.

The acquisition continues a long relationship between Motor Coach Industries (MCI) and Peter Pan, based in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The delivery, Peter Pan’s 45th MCI vehicle purchase in recent years, will support the company’s expansion in the Northeast. Peter Pan recently announced a partnership with Megabus, taking over all its routes in the area.

Peter Pan is one of the largest privately owned bus companies in the U.S., operating an all-MCI fleet of more than 200 coaches and making over 1,000 daily departures to more than 100 destinations across the Northeast.

“Peter Pan Bus Lines is growing fast by adding motor coaches, routes, drivers and amenities to better serve our customers in Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and other cities,” said Peter A. Picknelly, Chairman and CEO of Peter Pan. “One thing that won’t change is our commitment to customer satisfaction with clean buses, professional drivers, and on-time service.”

The new, tailor-made J4500 coaches from MCI include advanced safety features, modern amenities, and the latest technology while maintaining Peter Pan’s cabin design and interior. Peter Pan says the MCI coaches, technical support, and replacement parts keep its operations running smoothly, reduce maintenance costs, and reinforce customer satisfaction. Peter Pan is working with MCI on a 2025 order to further expand its fleet.

“We love to be part of Peter Pan’s growth,” said Brent Maitland, Vice President of MCI Private Sector Sales and Marketing. “For decades, we have worked together to provide coaches that enhance the brand and excel in everyday service. The relationship we have with the Peter Pan team pushes our product and support to be the best, and we truly appreciate working together.”
