The Pacific Bus Museum will hold an open house Sunday, Aug. 20, featuring a display of vintage buses, a flea market of bus memorabilia and bus-related merchandise, a barbecue luncheon, and raffles.
The open house will be at the museum, 37974 Shinn St., Fremont, California, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
“This year’s open house promises to be better than ever with some rarely seen classic buses,” said Ron Medaglia, an organizer of the event.
In addition to the museum’s operational bus fleet and numerous visiting buses on display, visitors will see country recording star Tammy Wynette’s personal tour coach and a surprise, one-of-a-kind restored 1950s-era coach.
Attendees will have an opportunity to get up close and experience the magnificence of these machines and learn how to help ensure that they are not lost to time.
Visitors invited to bring buses
Members and guests are encouraged to bring buses to display. They should arrive at the bus yard starting at 9 a.m. the day of the event to allow adequate time for parking.
Tables will be available at the flea market for sales of bus memorabilia and bus-related merchandise. One table is free to each PBM member. Additional tables and tables for nonmembers are $25. Flea market setup will start at 9:45 a.m.
Lunch will begin after 11 a.m., featuring the choice of hamburger, cheeseburger, or barbecue chicken breast, with macaroni, potato and green salads, water or soda, and dessert. The cost is $14 for adults and $6 for children.
Raffles will be held after the barbecue. Tickets for each raffle will go on sale at 11 a.m.
